Damaged Pensacola bridge drivable again, still closed

| Wendy Victora Rudman

The Pensacola Bay Bridge, closed for more than eight months, is finally drivable again — at least for two lanes of traffic.

But the bridge remains closed and local elected officials say they are waiting for the Florida Department of Transportation to announce the opening date and time. State Rep. Alex Andrade says he will be surprised if it’s not open by 10 a.m. on Friday.

The Pensacola Bay Bridge may reopen to two-lane traffic later this week. (Submitted photo)
