I have been in this industry for more than 25 years at this point, getting my first paid job at the Ball State Daily News in the summer of 1998. Since that time, I have written thousands of stories (my best estimate is around 5,000, but that could be a little high or a little low).

There’s a hall of fame for just about everything

I have been a fan of video games for practically my entire life. My parents purchased an Atari 2600 for my brother and me in the early ‘80s and I’ve been hooked on them ever since. I even wrote a weekly column on gaming at my last job that was published across the country for a few years. While I don’t consider myself an expert on the subject, I’m definitely well versed in it.

Area track athletes shine at Wildcat Invitational

Area athletes took to the track for the first big meet of March, competing in Pensacola Saturday at the Steve Garst Wildcat Invitational at Washington. Several athletes placed in the top 10 in their respective events. Ameer Rustom of Navarre won the javelin with a school-record throw of 174-feet-2-inches. He also won the shot put (45-04).
