Cameron Mayweather has come a long way with his dedication during his high school football career. It paid off last week when he signed a letter of intent with Moorpark College in California.
“My work ethic was my biggest improvement,” Mayweather said. “I didn’t work as hard when I was a freshman, but with the help of our strength and conditioning coach (Garrett Bagley), I built a great work ethic and became a lot faster and stronger.”

The Raiders won two consecutive games to open the week, earning a 2-1 win over Choctaw April 7 before crushing Fort Walton 14-2. They closed the regular season with a 2-0 loss to Owensboro Catholic out of Kentucky.

Navarre’s girls soccer team held its banquet April 9 to recognize its most successful season in program history and welcome back head coach Rob Simon, who returned this week after recovering from emergency surgery in early March.

Between the hours of nine and noon each day last week, Navarre High School’s baseball field was in use, but the Raiders weren’t in the dugout.
