Navarre Raider girls weightlifting team among best in state again

Navarre’s girls weightlifting team stuck around for the team championship trophy presentation Friday night, watching rival Pace claim both the 3A Olympic and traditional titles at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.
While this marked the second consecutive year that the Raiders fell short of adding an eighth state championship in program history, the end of the season was still something worth noting.

Cici Buffalino earns player of year honors in district

Navarre soccer standout Cici Buffalino has been named the Florida Athletic Coaches Association District 1 Player of the Year.
Buffalino was named the top player in a district that features athletes from Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties. Teammate Katie Kauth earned a spot on the senior all-state team.

A handful of Navarre football players are headed to the next level to continue playing the sport they love.
Hunter Pfiester and Jaxson Spalla will play at Maryville, Brayden Brown is going to Stetson, Charlie Cottrell has signed with Birmingham-Southern and Tyrell Marshall will stay close to home and play at the University of West Florida.

Navarre’s boys basketball team knocked out of district tournament

Navarre’s boys basketball team came to an end last Tuesday night. The Raiders were overwhelmed early by Crestview and never got on track in an 84-57 District 1-6A quarterfinal loss to the Bulldogs.
Down 18-3 after one quarter and 45-15 at the half, it proved to be too big of a hole for the Raiders to dig out of as their up and down kind of season wrapped up.

Navarre nearly rallies for win over Crestview in district girls basketball tournament

Navarre’s girls basketball team could have folded up shop after the first half of its District 1-6A quarterfinal against Crestview last Monday night.
The Raiders trailed 19-9 at halftime but put together a furious second-half rally, nearly resulting in an upset win of the fourth-seeded Bulldogs.
