Navarre’s baseball team secured its biggest win of the season to this point, winning 5-3 over state-ranked Crestview on Thursday night at home.

As far as games go, the boys lacrosse showdown with rival Gulf Breeze last Wednesday night was arguably Navarre’s biggest to date this season.


Both teams came in regionally ranked and the rivalry factor only added to the setting for the game.

Roan Strom wasn’t going to let anything stand in the way of him breaking a Navarre invitational record in the clean and jerk.


“I felt a little rough. My knee was hurting. My back was hurting, but the adrenaline pushed me through,” Strom said.

Tate had tied the game at 3-3 and now the pressure was on for the Navarre Raider softball team to respond to the adversity.


The Raiders weren’t rattled.

Navarre’s boys and girls lacrosse teams are in the top eight of the latest set of Region 1-2A rankings.

As Navarre’s girls lacrosse team huddled up after a 20-10 loss to Gulf Breeze on Monday at Bennett C. Russell Stadium, the players couldn’t help but hear the cheers coming from the Dolphins as they celebrated a win.

There were still a few tears in the eyes of Rachel Leggett as she walked out of the Bay Center in Pensacola and was greeted by family and friends who served as her own personal cheering section during the Sun Belt Conference tournament championship game on Monday.

Former Navarre Raider Rachel Leggett and the Troy Trojans are headed to the championship game of the Sun Belt tournament.


Troy punched its ticket with an 83-73 win on Sunday over Arkansas State, last year’s champ, and will play James Madison at 1 p.m. Monday at the Pensacola Bay Center.

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos will play a game at Birmingham’s Rickwood Field on May 27.

Navarre’s girls lacrosse is ranked among the top eight in Region 1-2A in the first set of FHSAA regional rankings.


The Raiders are seventh in the region after a 7-1 start to their season.
