As I’m writing this on Tuesday, it is Navarre Press’s 21st anniversary May 25, 2021.

It is difficult to believe it has been that long, especially since our community is working on some of the same issues we were facing 20 years ago.

Everyone is hiring these days, it seems.

If there was anyone who took last year’s shutdown of the sports world in stride because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was Michael Sandle.

He just went with the flow, staying level-headed, always believing that things would get back to a degree of normalcy and that he would get to play baseball again.

The Santa Rosa Board of County Commissioners, though goaded by a dozen angry and often belligerent citizens, declined to fire County Administrator Dan Schebler at its May 11 meeting.

I had the “opportunity” to watch most of the Santa Rosa Board of County Commission meeting last week and it was, well, interesting.

What wasn’t interesting was that it lasted from 4:30 p.m. until midnight.

The blooms and leaves have confirmed the year’s progress toward the summer. The rising temperatures and lengthening days have been a boon to the birds and animals, too.

The blossoms in Santa Rosa County are popular with insects and arachnids for a variety of reasons. Some insects enjoy the nectar and pollen, using it to great effect.
