Unsportsmanlike conduct
I was surprised to see what was chosen to be the Photo of the Week in a recent Navarre Press. A rival high school high jumper was shown in an “awkward position,” with a very unsportsmanlike comment below it. Rivalry and comments between sports teams is understood but insinuating remarks by the local newspaper is uncalled for.

The Navarre High School baseball team won districts and is playing tonight (Thursday) at 6 p.m. at home against Tallahassee Lincoln. It would be great if there was a good-sized hometown crowd for these young men who have worked very hard this season.

This weekend is the extremely fun Navarre Fun Fest. Friday evening kicks off the event with live entertainment, a children’s area, and many vendor booths. Mr. Williamson goes to Washington
Our freshman county commissioner, Rob Williamson, flew to Washington, D.C., April 13 and returned April 16 with $2,745.11 in receipts.
Working forests hold key to solving state water challenges

Thankful for no school on Good Friday
I am thankful Santa Rosa County decided to give our children Good Friday off. Contrary to James Hamel letter, it was not considered a religious holiday but simply a non-school day. Perhaps Mr. Hamel would also like to know that it was also a Jewish holiday, Passover.
Troopers should spend more time on 98
Since 2006 there have been 110 accidents involving bicycles or pedestrians on U.S. 98 between Navarre and Gulf Breeze. Nineteen of those crashes were fatal.
