Not negative, not opinion – just the facts

When I looked into Rob Williamson’s campaign contributions and expenditures, I found payments totaling $12,090.75 to his wife’s business, Sticky Designs. She started this business between his last campaign and his re-election campaign. I think Mr. and Mrs. Williamson found an opportunity to take campaign contributions and put them into the family’s pocket. Maybe he should explain to the voters what he’s paying his wife for.

The “phony game Mueller’s playing,” his illegitimate investigation should have ended long ago!

You can always tell when a politician feels he’s losing…he becomes desperate.  The mailer received in the mail Saturday from Rob Williamson has the stink of swamp water all over it.  He claims he’s been attacked by “Never Trump Republicans.” Further, he says his opponent, Dave Piech, is supported by those who “refused to back Donald Trump against Hillary Clinton.”  Well I, along with many others who back Dave Piech are “Always Trumpers,” and Rob Williamson just pulled a Hillary. He might as well have called us deplorables. Rob should have photo-shopped a picture of himself standing alongside Hillary and Pelosi, instead of using President Trump in a feeble attempt to advance his candidacy.

I deactivated my Facebook account in 2016.  Therefore, I have no idea what has been said there regarding the candidates seeking office this year.  I formed my opinion on who was best for the job by actually meeting both gentlemen and having rather lengthy discussions with them.

The Rob Williamson campaign mailer, or “hit piece,” that arrived in voters’ mailboxes over the weekend was one for the record books. We thought the low point of his campaign was running on his addictions. But, to our surprise, he reached a new low – just flat out lying.

So long summer. Football is back.

This is the last full weekend before our children go back to school. I can see some of you jumping for joy as you read this. I miss those days, but now my daughter, who is a teacher, calls and tells me how excited she is for the first day of school. Funny how that happens. Our reporters will be out at the schools taking pictures of children starting their day on Monday. If you see us, say “hi” and let us know your child’s name so we get it right. We hate it when we get it wrong! We chronicle students’ journeys through 18 years of school. We have it all – it is just one of the many reasons you should subscribe. We try to keep track of our students after high school too – so if you know of a student who has graduated and is doing great things let us know so we can brag about them. Once we were reviewing a bid for an engineering company to put in our reefs and we saw the name of one of our former Navarre High students on the bid. That’s exciting work – so we did a story about her. We love bragging about our students. We wish all our teachers a great school year.

Many months ago, District 4 commissioner and incumbent candidate Rob Williamson was keeping count of how many editorials we wrote about him. In the spirit of not wanting to disappoint him, and because time may be running out for the opportunity, we have at least one more. He won’t mind because he recently said on a Facebook post Navarre Press can no longer hurt him or anyone else. Really, we aren’t trying to hurt Williamson or anyone for that matter, but sometimes the truth hurts. In truth, we have given him four years of good advice and counseling – for FREE. But as the adage goes, you can’t help someone who won’t admit there is a problem.
