Brian Out Loud
I’m looking for someone who can help me be at two places at once on April 12. The athletes who are in both weightlifting and track are as well.

For God’s Sake
I’m a Canadian. Yes, I say “eh?” at the end of sentences, well, at least I used to. Growing up in Canada, I’d always thought that it was you Americans who had the accent. It wasn’t until I moved to Florida that I learned that it was me. People would stop me mid-sentence, ask me to repeat myself, then laugh at my accent. I quickly realized that life in Florida would go much easier for me if I lost the accent and the “eh?” with it.

Out and About
Every American should celebrate the outcome of the Mueller Investigation. This investigation shouldn’t have happened in the first place because it was based on false “leaks” and a “dossier” that was fabricated, and essentially opposition “research” devoid of any truth. The false narrative was encouraged from the highest levels of our government while Trump was running for the presidency. I hope we find out exactly how this happened because it is a travesty. This should never happen again to any president, regardless of their party affiliation. And, to think our military has had to serve under a commander-in-chief while he was being called a “Russian Operative.” And, how could Trump work with other countries while they are wondering if he is going to be in office?

We always hear nothing is free in this world. Most of the time it’s true.

For God’s Sake
I’m beginning to learn the driving “culture” on Highway 98. From what I’ve observed, though the speed limits range from 55 mph down to 35 mph, few keep to the posted limit. But driver’s beware! A friend giving me a ride to the airport warned me as we entered a 35 mph stretch, “Watch your speed through here or you’ll get a ticket.”

Out and About
Please read the obituary page this week. We have information on Saturday’s memorial service for Orv Branham who frequently volunteered at Navarre United Methodist Church and an obituary for Dorothy Reynolds including information on her memorial service April 6, at the Navarre Presbyterian Church. Dorothy’s son, David and her husband of 65-years, Paul, made every effort to write the obituary just the way they wanted it.

A heartbeat is life
If anyone has experienced the miracle of child birth, you will forever remember the first time you heard your baby’s heartbeat. The fast flutter sound fills the room along with the smiles and giggles from the parents.

Repentance, redemption and forgiveness
Here’s my two cents on Michael Cohen’s first day of testimony, watched all day. It struck me as the pot calling the kettle black, an attempt to destroy President Trump.

A proactive government benefits all citizens
I suppose, in the interest of full disclosure, I should state that my wife and I have been residents of the Navarre/Santa Rosa area since last August. While nine months of living here hardly makes me an expert on the area, in our previous community I served seven years as Mayor. The experience was both rewarding and educational.
