Tonight is the first free concert in the Tunes by the Dunes concert series at Navarre Beach Park’s Sand Crab Pavilion, just east of the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier. The concert series is Co-hosted by Okaloosa Gas District, Navarre Press, Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Office, Navarre Beach Area Chamber and Cat Country 98.7. The summer concert series will offer an exciting line-up of 14 FREE outdoor concerts every Thursday (7-9 p.m.), from May 31 to Aug. 30.

May 25 weather forecasters all over the Florida panhandle along with the national weather services were watching a storm brewing in the northwestern Caribbean Sea. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) issued its first advisory on the storm, subtropical storm Alberto, at 10 a.m. All of this was happening ahead of the official June 1 start to hurricane season. Someone forgot to brief Alberto that he was too early for the party. It’s like the person you didn’t invite to the party, yet they insist on coming – and they arrive empty-handed. Alberto was a dud.

Meditating on the true meaning of Memorial Day, not on planned activities, I was delighted to read an article on “American Black Patriots.” The bios of Salem Poor, Crispus Attucks, James Armistead, and the Black Regiment blessed me. Two of them were from New England, my birthplace.

Rep. Matt Gaetz’s calls for the removal of Robert Mueller have greatly incited his opposition. There is a lot of confusion surrounding the special investigation. With 18 years of experience in the department of defense, I’m familiar with what it means to follow the rule of law. The authority, scope, and staff of Mueller would indicate he is acting as a principal officer, and as such his appointment violated Executive power outlined in the Constitution. Put up against what the constitution states, it would appear that Mueller’s appointment does indeed conflict with the rule of law. Matt Gaetz has it right. I am grateful my congressman is not swayed by the court of public opinion and stands for the constitution.

I commend Rep. Matt Gaetz for advocating Americanism here in Northwest Florida. I find this refreshing. Too many politicians today only talk about themselves and fail to talk about defending the Constitution and American ideals which have made our country great. However, Rep. Matt Gaetz is proud to represent the same American ideals such as patriotism, conservatism, and personal responsibility as I personally promote in my high school and community.

American volunteers are helping to make a better life for all of us. Why is my birth place of Tennessee known as the Volunteer State? Tennessee has had several nicknames, but the most popular is “The Volunteer State.” The nickname originated during the War of 1812, in which the volunteer soldiers from Tennessee, serving under Gen. Andrew Jackson, displayed marked valor in the Battle of New Orleans.

Funny how the leftist FAKE news media including the current SRPG did not cover the school shooting earlier in the week where a armed school Resource Officer took down an armed student with a shot gun and revolver handgun Wednesday 5/16/2018 in Dixon, Illinois. I believe this student had been expelled earlier in the year but it was never mentioned for what reason. This past Friday’s 5/18/2018 shooting also involved a shotgun and a male student who was harassing a female student of which he killed. Now the leftist are making an “all guns ban” argument to disarm all law abiding gun owners in trying to disarm all of America. Kelly Clarkson on the Billboard Music Awards said she was tired of having moments of silence and advised having moments of action or change regarding guns again meaning banning all guns. But the left and leftist local governments have had their moments of action, and change, and have banned all guns in portions of the country such as Chicago, Illinois, while their shootings continued to rise. Laws do not stop criminal behavior. Laws only punish criminals after their criminal acts, and only if they are caught by the evidence left behind to identify and then prosecute that criminal. If you’re an illegal alien the democrats issue a lifetime get out of jail free card regardless of the criminal act for a future democrat vote at the ballot box! Who are democrats protecting? Fortify and protect our schools and kids because all the other options have failed us!
