Johnson announces 2016 sheriff candidacy
Lt. Bob Johnson plans to run for Santa Rosa County sheriff in 2016 and is taking advantage of a recent transfer to the main office in Milton to gain experience.
‘Down and Derby’
Navarre Cub Scouts in pack 104 and 105 spent Jan. 19 cheering at the packs’ Pinewood Derbies. After weeks of perfecting the looks and skills of their racing machines, the Cubs got to race to the finish in style surrounded by friends and family. Once the heats were done the racing times were averaged and the Pinewood Derby top three for each category were named.
Contract extension given to pier management
Santa Rosa County Commissioners plan to give The Pier, Inc., managers of the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier, a five-month contract extension to ensure a management transition doesn’t occur at the peak of tourism season.
