The Santa Rosa County Property Appraiser has teamed up with the Navarre Area Board of Realtors (NABOR) to offer Multiple Listing Service (MLS) information on its website at srcpa.org.

A man living in Pace and apprehended and booked into Santa Rosa County jail on Wednesday will be moving to a different jail in a different state to face murder charges.

Commissioners voted to accept the only bid received toward the purchase of the Navarre Community Center. The Navarre Area Board of Realtors (NABOR), current lessee of the county-owned property located at 1917 Navarre School Road, was the sole bidder.

Nature took its course last Wednesday as high tides from Tropical Storm Andrea washed over the first sea turtle nest of the season on Navarre Beach. The loggerhead sea turtle nest was found last Monday in Beach Access 8, but by Wednesday night the nest was suspected to be completely submerged.

Police are searching for the person or people responsible for a break-in at the South Santa Rosa Service Center between Navarre and Gulf Breeze.

The Navarre area’s main thoroughfare will be undergoing a facelift beginning this week. Work is scheduled to begin on a resurfacing project of U.S. Highway 98 (also referred to as SR 30) on June 13.  The target area of the project is an 11-mile stretch that will begin at the Gulf Breeze Zoo to the west and will extend to the Santa Rosa – Okaloosa county line to the east, encompassing the communities of Navarre, Midway and Gulf Breeze.

Santa Rosa Commissioners are gearing up for what is expected to be a contentious budgeting process. Although there was a glimmer of good news brought forth by the 1.04 percent increase estimated for property tax revenues — the first time there has not been a decline since the 2006-2007fiscal year — there is not enough projected revenue to meet budget requests from constitutional officers, such as the Sheriff and Tax Collector.

Leigh Bowden was devastated by the disappearance of her adored Yorkie, Toot.  Like many devoted pet owners who find themselves in a such a tragic situation, she spent hours each day looking for her dog, frantically posting flyers, combing neighborhoods and sending requests for help on social media, gradually losing hope he would ever be located.  However, ultimately it was her continued effort, specifically the flyers, which reunited Toot with his family, which had grown by another Yorkie via adoption in his absence.
