Navarre man convicted of aggravated battery
State Attorney Bill Eddins announced today that Timothy Donald Helton, 43, of Navarre was convicted of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon causing great bodily harm and battery by a Santa Rosa County jury.

Navarre Cub Scouts in pack 104 and 105 spent Jan. 19 cheering at the packs’ Pinewood Derbies. After weeks of perfecting the looks and skills of their racing machines, the Cubs got to race to the finish in style surrounded by friends and family. Once the heats were done the racing times were averaged and the Pinewood Derby top three for each category were named.
Contract extension given to pier management
Santa Rosa County Commissioners plan to give The Pier, Inc., managers of the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier, a five-month contract extension to ensure a management transition doesn’t occur at the peak of tourism season.
