Unites States Air Force Capt. Gail Leibovich and her dog, Indiana Jones Tyrannosaurus-Rex (Indy for short), are looking for a little help to make their dream a reality.

The partly cloudy skies and gentle breezes last Saturday morning provided a perfect backdrop for the final Heroes on the Water event at Navarre Park.

MIAMI — The HealthCare.gov website will still be a work in progress beyond the end of the month, Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said Tuesday, appearing to soften a promise that the site will be working by then for the vast majority of users.

As the sunken boat in the Santa Rosa Sound near Juana’s on Navarre Beach continues to sink ever so slowly, the effort to remove the boat continues to move slowly as well.

Santa Rosa County is promoting Brad Baker to Director of Emergency Management, a position being vacated by the retiring Sheryl Bracewell.  

Don Richards, president of United Peninsula Association, which represents roughly two dozen homeowners associations, appeared before county commissioners with a possible cost-saving measure last Tuesday.  Richards was joined by City of Gulf Breeze officials to recommend the switch to light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs at county-owned facilities for cost savings.
