National Park Service exploring public spearfishing to control lionfish
The dreaded Indo-Pacific Lionfish have been spotted in local Gulf Islands National Seashore waters, and park officials are exploring the idea to allow capturing by spearfishing, something which has traditionally not been allowed by the National Park Service within park waters other than Biscayne National Park in south Florida.
