State seeks input on water quality priorities
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) is holding six meetings around the state to take public input on the department’s water quality assessment and restoration priorities during the next two years. One of the six meetings will be held from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., March 13, at the FDEP Northwest District Office, 160 W. Government Street, Pensacola.

Gaetz’s medical marijuana bill passes committee
A bill introduced by State Representative Matt Gaetz that would decriminalize the use of cannabidiol (CBD), a noneuphoric ingredient found in some marijuana plants, passed its first committee stop March 5 in Tallahassee. Members of the the House Criminal Justice Committee approved the measure 11 to 1.

Prescription changes for TRICARE for Life
Many area residents were notified by mail last month that their prescription benefits through Tricare for Life would be changing as of Friday, March 15. The change resulted from passage of the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act, which created a five-year pilot program requiring some TRICARE for Life beneficiaries to utilize mail-order or military pharmacies for refills of maintenance medications taken regularly for chronic conditions.
