A report released Monday by the National Park Service (NPS) showed nearly 3.9 million visitors enjoyed the Florida sites of Gulf Islands National Seashore in 2012. Further, the report estimates they spent more than $155 million in communities near the park and supported nearly 2,100 local jobs. According to the report most visitor spending supports jobs in the retail, hospitality and entertainment industries.

The Gulf Breeze City Council voted unanimously Monday to begin negotiations for the renovation of the Tiger Point Golf Course Clubhouse and Pro Shop. The city will negotiate a contract with architectural firm Bay Design Associates, Inc. for the design and construction management of the renovation.
