County commissioners approve impact fees, with a caveat
Santa Rosa County commissioners on Thursday voted to pass an impact fee to be used for roads and transportation purposes, if and only if voters approve a half-cent sales tax. The two are bound together.

Clerk of Courts reveals $852K stolen by fraudster
On Friday April 5, 2024, Santa Rosa County Clerk of Courts was notified that a recent payment to a vendor in the amount of $852,983.06 had been intercepted as a result of fraud. Upon notification the Clerk of Courts’ Finance Department issued a fraud alert to their bank.

Former director of UWF Japan House recognized with the Order of the Rising Sun award
Shigeko Honda, who was director of the University of West Florida Japan Center and Japan House for 26 years, has been awarded the prestigious Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays. Honda was recognized at an event on UWF’s Pensacola campus on April 1 which celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Japan House.
