‘Pill mill’ doctor amongst 12 charged for racketeering, drug trafficking
Dr. Elaine Sharp, the Gulf Breeze doctor at the center of an alleged pill mill operation, is behind bars. Sharp, 72, was booked into Escambia County Jail Thursday, Oct. 3, and transferred to Santa Rosa County lockup the next day. No charge was given on the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office’s Jail view website at the time, but Florida Department of Law Enforcement announced the charges Oct. 4.
Sharp is facing a slew of charges including murder, manslaughter, conspiracy to commit racketeering, unlawfully prescribing for monetary gain, unlawfully prescribing not medically necessary, conspiracy-trafficking oxycodone of 100 grams or more, conspiracy-trafficking hydromorphone of 28 grams or more, conspiracy-trafficking hydromorphone of 100 grams or more, and money laundering.

‘Pill mill’ doctor arrested in Escambia on homicide charges
Dr. Elaine Sharp, the doctor at the center of an alleged pill mill operation in Gulf Breeze, is behind bars. Sharp, 72, is being held in Escambia County Jail on no bond after she was booked into jail Thursday, Oct. 3, just after 1 p.m.
No charge was given on the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office’s Jail view website due to it being for an out-of-county warrant. According to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, Sharp is being charged with two counts of homicide.

Boardwalk planned for Navarre Beach, architectural firm to be hired
The Tourist Development Council (TDC), which is the county board responsible for directing the Tourist Development Office (TDO) and their plans, has released initial conceptual plans for a new visitor center and boardwalk along the Gulf side of Navarre Beach.
The boardwalk, which will be built in two phases, will feature eight retail shops and stretch from the Navarre Beach main parking lot (near Windjammers on the Pier) to the Dolphin Pavilion in the Navarre Beach Marine Park. The eight shops will be in four buildings.
