‘We will not run out of gas’

The Daybreak Market/76 gas station at the intersection of Santa Rosa Drive and U.S. Highway 90, just west of East Spencer Field Road, is selling regular gas for $1.76 per gallon until 5 p.m. today. Mark Contos, vice president of the Daybreak Market company, said the store has 31,000 gallons available for the grand-opening special.

Holley Navarre Fire District adds paramedic services

On the evening of Tuesday, April 25, a 7-year-old child fell from the second story window of a house on Majestic Boulevard in Navarre. Holley Navarre Fire District firefighters with Fire Engine 41 responded to the call and were first to arrive on scene. The child was on trauma alert and needed immediate care. Luckily for the child’s family, Engine 41 is now equipped with Advanced Life Support.

Winn-Dixie offering $20 incentives for vaccinations

Winn-Dixie grocery stores throughout Northwest Florida is offering shoppers $20 in free groceries to shoppers who get vaccinated at one of their stores. Southeastern Grocers Inc., parent company of Winn-Dixie and Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket, is offering $20 in free groceries as vaccine incentives in all in-store pharmacies to further encourage customers and their families to get up to date on routine vaccinations.

Skimming investigation leads to two arrests

On April 19, detectives with Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office began investigating reports of skimmer devices placed on local bank ATMs. In a series of days, it was reported that two individuals used at least 44 counterfeit cards to withdraw over $11,000 from several locations in Okaloosa and Santa Rosa County. During that time period, it was reported to the agency that approximately 700 cards were skimmed at various locations. Through video surveillance and other investigation efforts, detectives were able to identify the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop.
