Hurlburt Field implements new privately owned firearms policy June 1
Hurlburt Field, Fla. – Effective June 1, a change in policy will allow active-duty Security Forces members and Air Force Office of Special Investigations agents to conceal carry a privately owned firearm while on Hurlburt Field once certain requirements are met.

Governor to Obama: Fund Zika fight now
In late January, the first concerns about the Zika virus began to surface in the state of Florida. By February, the first alert was issued and Santa Rosa County had reported its first and, to date, only case of the mosquito-borne illness which was travel-related. On Feb. 2, the Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County said there were a total of nine cases in the state and all were travel-associated cases.

Aerial demonstration team crashes throughout history
Air Force Academy, Colo. — Two fighter jets from the military’s elite performance teams crashed within hours of each other Thursday. A U.S. Air Force Thunderbird jet crashed in Colorado Springs, Colo., following the group’s traditional performance at the Air Force Academy commencement. A Navy’s Blue Angels pilot was killed when his F/A-18 fighter jet crashed near Nashville, Tenn., where the team was practicing for a scheduled performance this weekend.
