Teaching community homesteading skills
Rachel Wallace founded Ladies Skill Share in January 2023. Now she has hosted several classes, and a large-scale event dedicated to teaching the community homesteading skills.
Ladies Skill Sharing is a women-based group that teaches homesteading skills. The group began because Wallace could see the need to learn and teach the skills that generations before us utilized in their daily lives and sometimes to survive hard times. Wallace believes there is power in knowledge and in wanting to share that with the community she founded Ladies Skill Sharing.

Santa Rosa Tourism Council approves budget, looks at marketing results
Santa Rosa County Tourism Development Council convened March 20 to discuss and approve a preliminary budget for FY 2025-26, which runs from Oct. 1, 2025, to Sept. 30, 2026.
The total overall budget for the TDC, which funds Tourism Development Office (TDO) operations, brand marketing for Santa Rosa County and grants for a variety of events throughout the county, is $3,633,563.

Holley Navarre Water System moves to enhance golf game at Hidden Creek with GPS devices
Specialized GPS equipment may soon be available for golfers at The Club at Hidden Creek.
At their March meeting, Holley Navarre Water System board of directors approved a contract for GPS tracking units with displays for the course’s new Yamaha cart fleet. The contract is a 60-month lease with Pace Technology 10EX for $3,765.90 a month. Pending a review from HNWS’ legal team, TCHC will receive 80 units.

East Bay Boulevard from Cedar Street to Melissa Oaks Drive will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, March 22 until noon on Sunday, March 23. The roadway will be closed for the replacement of a culvert as part of the ongoing East Bay drainage project.

Going from middle school to high school can be a big change for some students and parents.
To help ease the transition and answer questions parents and students might have, Navarre High School spent the week before spring break visiting area schools and holding an eighth grade parents night in the Raider gymnasium Thursday, March 13.
