Residents urged to prepare for severe weather
The National Weather Service in Mobile is predicting severe weather conditions in the overnight hours of Monday night (Jan. 8) into Tuesday morning (Jan. 9) for our area. Santa Rosa County has been placed under an enhanced risk for severe weather.

Brandon Aydelott hearing moved to March 26
The question of whether Brandon Aydelott, 27, will be released after spending 10 years in Florida State Hospital was not answered when Aydelott went into court Thursday, Jan. 4.
With two psychological evaluations ordered, Circuit Judge Clifton Drake rescheduled the hearing to March 26. Those psychological evaluations must be ready by the end of February. The calling of witnesses, including psychologists, is expected to take place at a later date.

Water system approves rate increase
Holley Navarre Water System’s board approved a 4.5% rate increase on water and sewer base rates and tiered rates. They also approved a 2% cost of living increase for staff.
