Second prom held by Navarre High parents
Navarre High School seniors are getting a second chance to attend prom. Parents and people in the community are hosting a second prom for those unable to attend the first due to limited ticket sales.
New administrative position to oversee millions in school district funding
At the April 7 meeting of the Santa Rosa District School Board, Superintendent Dr. Karen Barber and the board announced the hiring of a coordinator for federal programs.
The position will be filled by Bobbie Lewter.

Student headed to District 1 contest for essay
Holley-Navarre Intermediate would like to congratulate fifth grader, Sakura Plambeck, for winning FIRST PLACE in the annual Fifth Grade Essay Contest sponsored by Retired Educators of Florida. She will now represent Santa Rosa County in the District 1 contest, which includes all the central time zones in Florida.
Meet Navarre High School’s new assistant principal
At Santa Rosa County School Board’s March meeting, Superintendent Dr. Karen Barber introduced Navarre High School’s new assistant principal, Christopher Stanley.
Stanley is stepping into Joe Trujillo’s former role. Trujillo now serves as the principal at Avalon Middle School in Milton.
Navarre High student shines as Sunshine State Scholar
At the Santa Rosa County school board meeting on Feb. 10, several students were honored as their school’s choice to represent them at the district level of the Sunshine State Scholars program.

Woodlawn Beach Middle School will hold a STEAM night Mar. 10, its first STEAM night since 2019.
More than 200 parents and students are expected to fill the halls with curiosity, creativity and fun, following a model created after the hit TV show, ‘Amazing Race.’
