Haas Center to earn University Center designation by US Economic Development Administration
University of West Florida’s Haas Center has been recognized by the US Economic Development Administration with a University Center designation.
According to UWF, the center aims to bolster Florida veteran and minority entrepreneurs by building wealth in sustainable businesses in the financial, professional, scientific services, manufacturing and transportation sectors. The project is one of only two such EDA University Centers in the state, the other being Florida A&M University. The University of West Florida announced a $2.5 million gift from the Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis & Overholtz law firm to name the UWF Center for Leadership and enhance its initiatives.

If you went to Navarre High School at any point in time, then you are likely familiar with Julia Stapleton. She spent the past 39 years teaching around 8,000 students. Stapleton, who is originally from Illinois, moved to Florida in 1982 and began teaching in 1983.
