United Way of West Florida collects school supplies
Every Summer, just before children return to the classrooms, United Way of West Florida and other community partners come together to help get students the tools they need to make the school year successful.
On July 21, they will do that again with “Stuff the Bus.”

West Navarre Intermediate ESE/inclusion third-grade teacher Angela Jordan hoped and prayed country music singer Woody Bradshaw would get an opportunity to visit her students at some point.
They had written letters to Bradshaw a year ago, and the Northwest Florida native responded with a six-page letter to the students, written in cursive, and said he hoped he’d have a chance to visit this year.

Title One shakeup in School District
Every year, the Santa Rosa County School District receives funding from the federal government to bolster educational opportunities and programs.
All those federal dollars go through the Office of Federal Programs. One type of funding is Title I and only specific schools are included in the funding.

Matt Wyatt was 16th in his class at Navarre High midway through his freshman year and soon rose up the ranks as he made a push to being No. 1 in the Class of 2022.
It all worked out in the end for Wyatt, who is this year’s valedictorian.
