Karen Cody wasn’t expecting to be Navarre High’s Teacher of the Year. Not when she had just won the honor a few years ago. The odds didn’t seem to lean in her favor.
So, when it was announced that Cody had earned the recognition, she was caught off guard.
Pensacola State brings ‘Shakespearience’ to Navarre High
On Oct. 25, Pensacola State College students took to the stage in Jan Savage’s honors theatre class at Navarre High School to perform a 30 minute version of Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor.
The performance is part of six shows PSC is doing across Escambia and Santa Rosa County under the banner of the ‘Shakespearience Caravan.’ All six shows are at high schools.
West Navarre Intermediate shows ‘STEAM isn’t scary’
Each year, West Navarre Intermediate School hosts a family STEAM night to help engage students and their parents in some of the concepts being taught in school.

Santa Rosa Schools scored above average on Florida civic literacy exam
Santa Rosa Schools have surpassed the state average on the Florida Civic Literacy Exam. The Florida Civic Literacy Exam (FCLE) is an assessment that began in the 2021-2022 school year. Students enrolled in US Government courses are required to take the exam.
