At the April 7 meeting of the Santa Rosa District School Board, Superintendent Dr. Karen Barber and the board announced the hiring of a coordinator for federal programs.

The position will be filled by Bobbie Lewter.

Holley-Navarre Intermediate would like to congratulate fifth grader, Sakura Plambeck, for winning FIRST PLACE in the annual Fifth Grade Essay Contest sponsored by Retired Educators of Florida. She will now represent Santa Rosa County in the District 1 contest, which includes all the central time zones in Florida.

At Santa Rosa County School Board’s March meeting, Superintendent Dr. Karen Barber introduced Navarre High School’s new assistant principal, Christopher Stanley.

Stanley is stepping into Joe Trujillo’s former role. Trujillo now serves as the principal at Avalon Middle School in Milton.

Woodlawn Beach Middle School will hold a STEAM night Mar. 10, its first STEAM night since 2019.

More than 200 parents and students are expected to fill the halls with curiosity, creativity and fun, following a model created after the hit TV show, ‘Amazing Race.’

Oriole Beach Elementary School had a packed house Thursday for a night of science related activities. Before the event started, 40 or so parents and students lined up along the bus ramp waiting to get inside.
