A 19-year-old woman was arrested at a residence on Burton Circle for drug possession after her mother called authorities and said her daughter was threatening self-harm, according to a Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

A jury found Ernest Parker, 52, a former employee of the closed Milton Girls Juvenile Residential Facility, guilty of three counts of sexual misconduct March 6. He will be sentenced April 16 and faces a maximum of 45 years in prison.

Woman charged in death of newborn

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office reported 29-year-old Tonisha Lache Crowell of Fort Walton Beach was taken to the jail in Crestview at about 1 a.m., March 1. She is charged with murder and aggravated child abuse in connection to the death of a newborn.

Milton woman sentenced in fatal hit-and-run

The Florida Highway Patrol reported 26-year-old Brianna Strum of Milton was sentenced Feb. 20 to more than 11 years in prison on a charge of DUI manslaughter stemming from a fatal crash April 2013 on I-10 in Escambia County. Strum entered a plea of no contest in December 2013 to the charge.

Man robs Holley home after solicitation attempt

A man posing as a door-to-door salesman robbed a residence on Forester Road Sunday night, according to a Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office offense report. The man was described as a white male possibly in his 20s, 5’10 to 6-feet-tall with brown hair and an unshaven scruffy look.

Corrections officer arrested for sexual battery

An employee of the Santa Rosa Corrections Institution, 37-year-old Billy Chad Gibson, was arrested Feb. 13 and charged with 10 counts of Capital Sexual Battery on a child less than 12 years of age.
