A man that authorities suspect might be involved in a double homicide in Milton and a murder in Panama City was apprehended by authorities in Troy, Alabama. The Bay County Sheriff’s Office reported July 22 that 41-year-old Derrick Ray Thompson was arrested without incident.
The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office reports that two suspects are in custody in connection with a series of burglaries that occurred Jan. 14 throughout Santa Rosa County, including Navarre.
A Santa Rosa County man was convicted July 10 of having sex with several teenage girls after giving them alcohol to get them drunk during a weekend camping trip to Chumuckla in February 2013.
A Navarre man remains in the Santa Rosa County Jail on charges stemming from an alleged June 16 incident altercation in which he had to be forcibly detained by a Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputy. According to court records, 47-year-old Jerry Leion Barber faces felony charges of battery and obstructing justice and two misdemeanor charges of resisting an officer and probation violation.
A 43-year-old Gulf Breeze man was convicted June 26 on charges of kidnapping and sexual battery relating to an incident on Pensacola Beach. State Attorney Bill Eddins announced that Bret Randall May was convicted by a jury in Escambia County Circuit Court. May faces a life sentence.
A Navarre man charged with aggravated stalking for allegedly threatening his neighbor is scheduled to appear in court today. Judge John Simon will preside at the motion hearing for 49-year-old Jeffrey Denver Campbell. He was arrested April 14 and faces three felony charges including aggravated stalking, firing a gun into a dwelling, vehicle, building or aircraft and grand theft of a firearm.
Convicted sex offender and former Santa Rosa County school bus driver Lee Calvin Pardue was sentenced Monday to three consecutive life sentences plus 200 years in prison.
A Milton man is charged with aggravated child abuse, a first degree felony, and is being held without bond for allegedly beating a six-month-old child. The victim is currently in intensive care. The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office reported 27-year-old Joseph Shawn Walker was arrested June 4.
The Navarre man accused of shooting a woman and himself in a Hartington Road home during the early morning hours of June 6 is being held in the Santa Rosa County Jail on more than$1 million bond.
