A Pace man was charged June 25 for not reporting his mother’s death after police discovered her badly decomposed body in the home they shared during a May 13 welfare check.
Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Derrick Christopher Smith, 22, of the 2200 block of Estates Circle in Navarre, in relation to an active felony warrant for the molestation of a juvenile under 12 years of age.
Edgar Newton Doubleday, 19, of the 6900 block of Jasper Street in Navarre, was arrested June 4 on multiple charges, including a third-degree felony count of manufacturing, distributing or selling imitation drugs after witnesses said he mixed BC Powder and Anbesol to sell as “cocaine.”
The fire that destroyed a Summit Drive home June 7 was a result of arson, Kayla Anderson, spokesman with the state’s Fire Marshal’s Office, said last week. She said the department is investigating a “person of interest.”
