Navarre Beach Marine Park will soon be marked as the first stop in the new Florida’s Playground Trail.
Holley residents petition for park upgrades
Residents of Holley are signing a petition, urging the county to add playground equipment, restrooms and bleachers at Holley Ball Park. Currently the 3.5-acre park owned by the county and located on Bob Tolbert Road, has sparse accommodations, including a ball field, batting cages and one portable toilet.
Fee simple titles complicated by Navarre pass amendment
County commissioners from Escambia and Santa Rosa joined forces to lobby the United States Senate, specifically Senator Bill Nelson, over a controversial amendment added to House Resolution 2954, Public Access and Lands Improvement Act that would prohibit the construction of a pass or channel through Santa Rosa Island.

Rabies alert issued for Fort Walton Beach and surrounding communities
Dr. Karen Chapman, Director of the Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa County, has issued a rabies alert in response to three bats testing positive for rabies within the past 30 days in the same general area. The rabies alert, which went into effect on Wednesday, Sept. 17, is for 60 days.
Festival season is upon us!
