Although he is now known as the “Reggae Redneck,” (in honor of one of his songs), Rickie Joe Wilson began his life and career in music in the Hoosier state. Originally from southern Indiana, Wilson has worn many hats over the years, from musician to minister to Radio Disc Jockey.

Warhorse Project looks to expand community involvement, continue facility development
At the end of Clearview St. on Garcon Point, you’ll find a gated, 30-acre property with some interesting inhabitants. The property is home to eight horses, a donkey and a litany of pigs. The people who look after these animals, mostly volunteers, are there not only for the animals but for visitors.

New Southend high school breaks ground
With shovels in hand and hardhats on their heads, members from Santa Rosa County school board ushered in the beginning of a new era for education on the south end of the county Wednesday, Dec. 6. They were at 5760 Gulf Breeze Parkway, the new home of a new high school, for a groundbreaking ceremony to kick off construction on the three story, 74 classroom Southend high school.
