New Life Deliverance Temple Church in Navarre recently held its annual Marriage and Singles Conference from April 20 through 22. It was the 19th time the conference has been held by the church.

This year’s conference was held at the Margaritaville Resort in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and the theme was ‘a love like this.’

Delaney Ward has always wanted to be a teacher.

“I was interested in the background or the behind the scenes of teaching when I was a student, even before I found my calling,” Ward said.

Valerie’s House Northwest Florida (VHNWFL) is celebrating five years of service to grieving children and families with a “Five Years of Hope” Open House Wednesday, April 29 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at 904 East Gadsden Street in Pensacola. VHNWFL first opened in 2021.

Santa Rosa County plans to upgrade restroom facilities at Lenny James Tolbert Memorial Park in Holley.

The park, located at 3124 Bob Tolbert Road, will receive a double restroom building. County staff identified the need for additional facilities to support current and future use. The park currently uses portable toilets. The total cost of the building is $107,553.79.

In recognition of April as Sexual Awareness Month, Emerald Coast Victim Services (ECVS) recently held a Bagels and Boundaries event at Navarre Bakery.

The event offered an opportunity for ECVS to showcase its services and inform the public about healthy relationships. ECVS is a nurse-led, trauma-sensitive program that provides medical forensic care, advocacy and other forms of support for individuals impacted by violence, particularly sexual assault.

Adams Sanitation, Navarre Area Board of Realtors, Navarre High School’s Shock and Awe EV racing team, and other groups and businesses came together April 22 for a beach cleanup in honor of Earth Day.

The smell of Thai food cooking. The sight of a martial arts demonstration. The sound of Thai music over a loudspeaker.

These are some of the experiences that greet visitors at Wat Florida Buddharam. On Sunday, April 12, the Buddhist temple hosted a celebration of Songkran, the Thai New Year.

Santa Rosa County recently held its first annual volunteer appreciation event to recognize volunteers at county owned and managed departments. The event was held at Santa Rosa County Auditorium.

Community Life Church will hold a special event for people living with disabilities in Northwest Florida.

On May 8, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., the church will host the “Chosen & Cherished Ball.”

The Navarre Park splash pad is expected to open May 1.
