CareerSource celebrates first anniversary as unified workforce brand
CareerSource Escarosa and the CareerSource Florida network recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of the launch of a unified brand. On Feb. 10, 2014, Florida became the first state in the nation to achieve aligned brands for its state board consisting of 24 regional workforce development boards and nearly 100 career centers.

School Board member to speak at leadership workshop
Santa Rosa School Board member Carol Boston will be a featured speaker Saturday, Feb. 28, at an interactive leadership workshop for women sponsored by the Institute for Women in Politics of Northwest Florida. The event will take place at 40 South Alcaniz St. in Pensacola in facilities provided by IHMC (Institute for Human and Machine Cognition) and will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Gulf Power and military bringing large-scale solar power to area
Gulf Power is partnering with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force to build solar energy farms at three different facilities across Northwest Florida. Last week, the utility submitted the renewable projects to the Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) for approval. The projects could be in service as early as December 2016.

Aerosync Support to open in Santa Rosa Industrial Park
Aerosync Support, Inc., a leader in helicopter repairs, modifications and upgrades, is moving to the Santa Rosa Industrial Park in Milton. Aerosync has purchased the former West Coat Metal Roofing building and is making a capital investment of more than $1.75 million to the facility. With the anticipated creation of 25 jobs at an average rate of $60,000, Aerosync qualified for a performance-based incentive program aimed at increasing high-skilled, high-wage jobs in Florida.
