The Florida Attorney General’s Office’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit secured more than $2.2 million for the Florida Medicaid program from Acadia Healthcare Company, Inc. Acadia, a health care provider based in Tennessee, alleged to have violated the Federal False Claims Act and the Florida False Claims Act by submitting false or fraudulent claims for inpatient behavioral health care to Medicaid and Medicare.

The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated Snowbirds and 100 years of Navarre history with a ‘Roaring 20s’ Snowbird Festival, hosted at St. Sylvester Catholic Church.

The Chamber annually holds snowbird events, including a festival. This year’s festival was put on with the collaboration of the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Office and a variety of sponsors and vendors.

TC’s Front Porch is having some work done to the front of their business this week, meaning customers will have to enter the restaurant through an alternative access. In a statement posted to their Facebook page, the restaurant informed customers of the situation and advised that they enter the building from the east entrance.

A convenience store with fuel pumps is planned for 6827 Gulf Breeze Parkway, on the southside of Highway 98, near the southern terminus of Edgewood Drive. According to plans submitted to Santa Rosa County Development Services, the store will be approximately 6,372 sq. ft. with a 9,909 sq. ft. fuel canopy. Under the fuel canopy, there will be 10 pumps.

With the close of 2024 came the close of Jimmy B’s Pizza in Tiger Point. The restaurant, located in a strip mall near the Tiger Point Walmart, had been serving pizza pies and other Italian food for the better part of 18 years. Chelsey Freiermuth, who took over for the restaurant’s namesake upon his retirement in 2023, said the decision to close was a difficult, yet necessary one.
