Starting May 1, beachgoers should be on the lookout and avoid areas that have been roped off for turtle nesting. Sea turtle nesting season begins May 1 and ends Oct. 31.

Guards returned to Navarre Beach March 13, just in time for possible spring break crowds and warmer weather.

The Navarre Beach Safety Division is in its third year. There are 30 lifeguards on staff that range in age from 16-61 and they are employed by the Navarre Beach Fire and Rescue.
