All-Star Game provides one last memory for football season

The East team featured players from Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties.

Central’s Joe Surratt served as the head coach for the game, with Pace’s Vance Smith and Crestview’s Thomas Grant among those helping on the coaching staff. Navarre assistant Lee Jones was also on the staff.

It was a tightly contested defensive battle throughout, but the East had an opportunity to win the game in the final minutes before a drive came up empty.

Baker’s Justice Baldwin and Crestview’s Jordyn Stoudmire were named the offensive and defensive MVP’s, respectively, for the East team.

The game put an exclamation point on the high school season.

“We all love football. It’s exciting to see these coaches and their players. It’s special playing in this game,” Surratt said. “We came up just short, but it was a great game.”
