Officials in Santa Rosa, Escambia and Okaloosa counties made the decision Monday to close offices Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of a winter storm expected to create hazardous driving conditions throughout the area. Florida Department of Transportation spokeswoman Donna Green said Monday, “A winter storm is a bit of an anomaly for us.” She continued, “Crews throughout the district are ready for the winter weather when it arrives and will use dry sand to treat roadways.”
