What to expect at Navarre’s Veterans Day ceremony
Everyone in the Navarre community is invited to help honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces at the 2025 Veterans Day Ceremony, acknowledging the men and
women, both living and deceased, for their sacrifice, courage, and dedication in service to our nation.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at Navarre Park. Commander Joe Dunn will open the program, calling for the advancement of colors and the singing of the National Anthem performed by members of the Navarre High School Junior ROTC.
Santa Rosa County District 1 Commissioner Bobby Burkett will present the official Veterans Day
Proclamation, followed by remarks from two distinguished guest speakers:
• U.S. Air Force Retired MSGT. Jason Skobel, honoring our Veterans Past & Present and an inspiration to
our future serviceman.
In a touching tribute, Scout Troop 401 will recite “In Flanders Fields.”
Following the ceremony, community organizations are invited to lay wreaths in honor of veterans. Participating
groups include:

• Any organization may follow by laying their wreath
After the ceremony, all attendees are welcome to gather for a free community lunch beginning at 12:00 PM. Meals will be served at both VFW Spectre Post 11367 (3050 W. Highway 98) and American Legion Post 382 (1850 Luneta St.), featuring grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, and homemade sides and desserts generously donated by members and volunteers throughout the community.
“This ceremony is a time for our community to come together, reflect, and give thanks for those who give
everything for our freedom,” said a spokesperson for Navarre American Legion Post 382. “We invite everyone
to join us as we honor all who have served and currently serve in our great nation for their service and courage
is never taken for granted.”
