Weather disrupts Christmas events

The heavy rain forecasted for Saturday has led organizers of a few Christmas events to cancel or reschedule. Here is what we know so far:

Hurlburt Field’s Annual Winter Wonderland and Tree Lighting is RESCHEDULED for Thursday, Dec. 7 from 4-7 p.m. at Memorial Air Park.

Christmas Parade 2020
The Grinch and other Christmas friends visited Navarre Saturday for the Navarre Community Christmas Parade.

The 2023 Navarre Christmas Parade is CANCELLED. There is no back up date in place.

The 2023 Jingle Bell Run is RESCHEDULED for Saturday, Dec. 9.

The Merry Market in the Park is MOVING to an indoors location at Holley Navarre Middle School (1976 Williams Creek Drive in Navarre).

The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce’s 29th Annual Christmas in the Park “Cheers to 50 Years”, presented by Wabi Sabi Aveda Salon, will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 9 am – 4 pm at Holley Navarre Middle School at 1976 Williams Creek Drive.

A local tradition since 1994, this event ushers in the holiday season in the Navarre area with a Merry Market sponsored by Allen Miller State Farm where local artists and crafters will gather with great gift ideas for everyone on your list. .

Starting at 9 am until 4 pm, more than 50 vendor booths will have wonderful and unique items offered for your holiday gift-giving needs.  Perfect Blend Coffee Company and G-Man on the Go Food Truck will also be onsite.

Santa and “The Grinch” will arrive at Noon and will be available for photos with children. Visits with Santa and The Grinch are sponsored by Fisher House of the Emerald Coast and parents are invited to bring their cameras for photos.

East Bay Church will open Santa’s Workshop at Noon with free crafts for kids to make and take.

Free baked goods and hot beverages will also be available at Noon at Mrs. Claus’ Bakery sponsored by Okaloosa Gas District.
