Water quality advisory for Gulf and Sound

The Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County issued May 1 a water quality advisory recommending the public avoid water-related activities including swimming, fishing and boating. According to a news release from the department, heavy rainfall may have contaminated recreational waterways.
Signs and red flags greeted visitors to Navarre Park May 1 announcing that a water quality advisory had been issued and they should refrain from swimming in the Santa Rosa Sound.
