Vietnam vet has passion for model making, family history

Surrounded by pictures of friends, family and mementos of a lifetime, Milton “Mickey” Reade tinkers away with one of his latest model airplanes.

Reade, 78, estimates he has completed around 65 model airplanes and ships, many of which are displayed prominently throughout his Midway home. Much of his collection is in what Reade calls his “heritage room,” a small bedroom which has been transformed into a sort of office.
