Take a walk through history at Bagdad Mill Site Park
The Bagdad Mill Site Park, a grassy space on the bank of Blackwater River and Pond Creek, has been named a Florida Heritage Site, an honor awarded to only six locations in Santa Rosa County.
The Bagdad lumber mill butted up to the confluence of the Blackwater River and Pond Creek. Logs cut up stream would be floated down the water way to the mill where workers would cut them into timbers to be shipped throughout the U.S. and Europe.
