Seniors try indoor skydiving

Warren “Biggie” Tucker earned his wings long ago when he piloted airplanes and, once, when he jumped out of one.
Winds of more than 100 miles per hour generated by huge fans distort Rusty Depaul’s face as she flies at iFLY in Virginia Beach on Feb. 23. Industrial-sized fans draw air from the facility’s large basement into a vertical wind tunnel that’s 14 feet across and 50 feet tall. Flyers are lifted off their feet as soon as they step into the glass tunnel and remain suspended on a cushion of air throughout a flight.
