To reduce the projected $50 million price tag of a new judicial facility voters last year rejected Santa Rosa County Commissioners today are expected to direct HOK architectural firm to explore phased reconstruction of adjacent support buildings and refurbishment of the current county courthouse.
Aerosync Support, Inc., a leader in helicopter repairs, modifications and upgrades, is moving to the Santa Rosa Industrial Park in Milton. Aerosync has purchased the former West Coat Metal Roofing building and is making a capital investment of more than $1.75 million to the facility. With the anticipated creation of 25 jobs at an average rate of $60,000, Aerosync qualified for a performance-based incentive program aimed at increasing high-skilled, high-wage jobs in Florida.
Holi Corp, leaseholder of the former Holiday Inn site on Navarre Beach, has asked Santa Rosa County Commissioners to approve mortgaging a new hotel at the location in the name of a subsidiary.
Santa Rosa County is accepting proposals for projects to be included in the county’s RESTORE Multi-Year Implementation Plan. Approximately $4.3 million is available to Santa Rosa County in the first dollars offered through the RESTORE Act. This initial release of funding is a small part of an estimated $20 million to $75 million Santa Rosa County is expected to receive once litigation and Clean Water Act fines against BP are finalized.
