Sandy Bottoms manager arrested for underage alcohol sale

The manager of a business occupying county-owned property on Navarre Beach was arrested on a misdemeanor charge for selling alcohol to a minor during a late March transaction.  The incident took place March 29 in the presence of a Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office detective at Sandy Bottoms, a convenience store located at 8228 Gulf Boulevard and operated by Dorothy Slye, who is also the current manager of the Navarre Beach Pier, another county-owned property.  

Animal Welfare Club

The Animal Welfare Club of Woodlawn Beach Middle School has been busy this year. So far, the student club has gathered food and supplies to give to local rescues facilities and shelters, as well as organizing a spay and neuter informational campaign and “Pets are Forever” campaign to ensure that pets receive the love and necessities they deserve.

Navy League honors Whiting Field active duty

In honor of Military Appreciation Month, Navy League Santa Rosa Council members held a social honoring NAS Whiting Field active duty May 9 at Blackwater Bistro in downtown Milton. Serving heavy hors d’oeuvres on the restaurant’s spacious front porch where over 50 people, mostly active duty personnel, gathered to celebrate.
