Santa Rosa County Reprises RISE Internship Program for Summer 2025

The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners is excited to offer the R.I.S.E – Readiness Internship for Skills and Experience program summer 2025, from Tuesday, June 10 to Friday, Aug. 1. The internship is open to all residents of Santa Rosa County aged between 16 and 20 years old. To qualify, students must be a resident of Santa Rosa County at the time of application and for the duration of program participation (proof of address is required).

Does Santa Rosa County recycle?

With the exception of part of 2019 and 2020, Santa Rosa County has had recycling services for at least two decades.

In 2012, the County entered a contract with West Florida Recycling, citing financial burdens from maintaining a county-run recycling service. In 2014, the County redirected their recyclables to a Montgomery, Alabama-based processor, after West Florida Recycling shut down. The following year, the Alabama recycling center shut down and recycling was back in County hands.

Hit the ground running on your business idea! Attend the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) start-up workshop from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at the Santa Rosa County Economic Development Office, 6491 Caroline St., Suite 4 in Milton. The workshop will highlight how to launch a small business operation with the foundation for success.
