It’s that time for those thinking about running for office to submit necessary paperwork to declare their candidacy.

Florida’s Governor, Rick Scott has instructed the Office of Medicaid Program Integrity to begin auditing hospitals and plans to ensure there are no instances of fraud or abuse.  The audit involves 129 Florida hospitals, including Gulf Breeze Hospital and Santa Rosa Medical Center in Milton. 

The Santa Rosa County School District rolled out with great fervor a five-year, $500,000 partnership with Discover Education this week which promises to change the DNA of how students learn and how they are taught.

The U.S. Department of Education awarded a five-year $1.9 million grant to Santa Rosa County Schools to create community learning centers that offer “academic enrichment” opportunities when school is out of session.
