The wind was whipping off of the bay at 25-30 mph with whitecaps visible. Her husband, John, was downstairs on his computer. Rosemary was deep in thought when she heard what she thought sounded like a door opening or closing.

Snowbird’s home away from home

Each year hundreds of people make their winter home in Florida and are, therefore, dubbed “Snowbirds.” They come in the winter months for many reasons, maybe to escape the cold and snow back home for warmer temperatures, to visit Florida when the beaches aren’t crowded with tourists or to spend some time gazing out over the water as the sun sets on Navarre Beach. Whatever the reason, Navarre welcomes these snowbirds to their temporary home-away-from-home.
